Amalfi Coast itinerary (4 days)
This is a practical, low-friction plan you can actually follow. Then you can generate your own custom version (budget, pace, kids, beaches vs hikes) in Travelty.
Where to base yourself
If you want the “postcard” feel, base in Positano. If you want easier transport connections, base in Amalfi. If you want calmer evenings and views, consider Ravello (but it’s less convenient).
For many people the sweet spot is: 2 nights Positano + 2 nights Amalfi, or 4 nights in Amalfi with day trips.
Day-by-day plan
Day 1 - Arrival + Positano sunset
Arrive, check in, then keep it simple: wander Positano, grab a viewpoint sunset, and do a relaxed dinner. Don’t over-schedule day 1 - travel days are chaos magnets.
Day 2 - Amalfi + Ravello
Morning in Amalfi town, then head up to Ravello for gardens and panoramic views. This combo hits the classic Amalfi mood without turning the day into a logistics dissertation.
Day 3 - Capri day trip
Take an early ferry. Do one “big” thing (viewpoint, boat loop, or a beach club) and one “small” thing (a wander and snack). Capri is gorgeous and expensive - treat it like a tasting menu, not a buffet.
Day 4 - Path of the Gods or slow beach day
If you like hiking, do Path of the Gods early. If not, do a slow day: beach time, long lunch, and a final viewpoint. Depart in the afternoon/evening if possible.
Transport tips (the non-glamorous truth)
The coast is stunning and slow. Buses can be crowded, roads are tight, and parking is pain. Ferries are often the easiest way to move between towns when they’re running. Build slack into your days.
Make it yours in 20 seconds
Tell Travelty your dates, budget, pace (chill vs packed), and what you care about (beaches, food, viewpoints, hikes). It’ll generate a custom itinerary you can tweak.
